A pretty high profile study came out about a week ago that compared red meat intake with early deaths. It looked at over 100,000 people over a period of 28 years and found that those who ate more red meat had an increased risk of an early death. Those that ate processed meats (hotdogs, bacon, salami) on a regular basis had an even higher risk. This study didn't really have any new information. We've always known that saturated fat and processed food is bad for our health. It did put a number on how much of a risk you're taking by eating too much of these foods. The study recommended eating no more than 2-3 servings of meat (3oz, size of a deck of cards) per week. Do you follow that recommendation?
